Monster Yamaha's Cal Crutchlow is struggling with the same downhill braking issues as nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi but says he has something up his sleeve as a cure at Laguna Seca.
The Isle of Man resident says he is slow through sectors one and three but is strong everywhere else. Rossi also complained of the same issues with his factory Yamaha, while Jorge Lorenzo has also said he has problems.
"We're struggling a little bit. We struggled in the morning, we changed something in the afternoon but not what I wanted to change and then we rode round for the whole session with the same problem. We missed an opportunity to change something, I feel, but it looks like we know where we need to go.
'I need to improve in one sector myself and then in the other sector, hopefully both me and bike can improve. It is the first and third I need to improve. I'm missing some stopping but I don't have much grip but in the other sectors we are strong.
"All the Yamaha riders have complained about the same thing, which is funny as that doesn't usually happen to be honest. Normally, if me and Valentino complain, Jorge won't and vice versa. We are all saying the same thing, but Bradley hasn't got a problem, which is good for him."
