Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi have spoken about the pass the young Spaniard put on the old master at Laguna Seca yesterday which was a carbon copy of how The Doctor went past Casey Stoner in 2008.
Marquez let off the brakes at the top of the Corkscrew and rode around the outside of the Yamaha man which gave him the Rossi line past the kerbing and narrowly missing the grate that sits a few feet inside.
And, in a lighthearted press conference, Rossi dragged HRC boss Livio Suppo into the conversation, asking him what he thought as he had complained about the move ever since Stoner joined Honda in 2011.
"I have already say to him that I will pay the copyright! When I saw the video of 2008 I say that is impossible but when I was there, I just release a little bit the brakes because there was no more space and I pass in the same place like Valentino," said Marquez, who went on to win.
"I try to release the brake but today was not the right day for fighting with Marc because he was too fast for me. But for sure before the end of the season we will have another chance," said Rossi
"I want to speak especially with (HRC boss) Livio Suppo about the overtake because he and Stoner broke my balls for two or three years about that overtake because I cut the line so what do you say today, is he disqualified," joked the nine-time world champion.
Suppo said: "Thank you to Marc for after all these years we pay back!"
