Bancaja Aprilia's Bradley Smith took a well-earned fourth in a wet and crash-strewn 125GP race at Le Mans this morning which saw fellow Brits Danny Webb and Scott Redding both being non-finishers.
Smith had battles on his hands right through the 24-lap encounter and came under attack from team-mate Sergio Gadea in the final laps. The Oxfordshire teenager had to give best to the Spaniard with two laps to go.
Julian Simon, who is also a team-mate of Smith, won the race by some 27 seconds from Jonas Folger. The German once again came through from the back of the grid, in a similar way to Jerez, but kept it upright and crossed the line second.
Danny Webb lasted just four laps while Scott Redding crashed out of fifth midway through the race.
