Britain's Bradley Smith has grabbed second place in this morning's rain interrupted 125GP race at Le Mans. He crossed the line just under a second behind Frenchman Mike DiMeglio and led Nicolas Terol by more than two seconds.
Smith got a terrible start from the lights and was down in 17th from his second on the grid. He managed to work his way up into tenth and got on the back of Pol Espagaro who towed him to the leading bunch.
Smith then went past Gabor Talmasci to take ninth before a spate of crashes on a damp corner brought out the red flag.
A great start in the second part saw Smith up to fourth by the first corner and then he started to chase down DiMeglio who had taken the lead. But the Frenchman's pace proved a little too hot.
Danny Webb finished in 21st and Scott Redding crashed out in the early laps of the first part.
