MotoGP Le Mans: Smith sees 'huge improvement' in qualfying

Monster Yamaha's Bradley Smith finished today MotoGP qualifying session only one second behind fastest man Marc Marquez and believes he will learn a lot from the riders around him in tomorrow's Le Mans race.

The Oxfordshire rider has Alvaro Bautista and one Valentino Rossi on the third row with him, plus he has Dani Pedrosa, Srefan Bradl and his own team-mate Cal Crutchlow to aim at when the lights go out.

"In the first practice we were looking a little shaky but the team have made huge improvements in every session and to only be one second behind pole in a huge improvement compared to the last three races," said Smith, speaking at Le Mans.

"To be on the third row is a great start for tomorrow. The main focus is to get a good start and to be able to follow the guys in front of me to learn as much as possible. Riding at that level will teach me a lot, so that is the plan."
