Moto2 title contender Enea Bastianini has confirmed he has signed a contract with Ducati for the 2021 season.
It is not yet clear in which team the young Italian will land as that depends on who gets the factory seat next to Jack Miller.
However, Esponsorama Ducati team manager Ruben Xaus said earlier today that his team is ‘99 per cent’ certain to get Bastianini next season.
“I have signed with Ducati. For the moment I do not know the team but I am thinking next week it will be possible to confirm this,” said Bastianini, speaking at the track.
“It is a good family for me, Italian bike, and possible for me to be fast in MotoGP but we will see.”
Bastianini’s signature leaves confirmation of one space in the Ducati family which is believed to have been filled some time ago by Jorge Martin.
It has been rumoured for some weeks he would slip into the space left by Jack Miller upon his promotion to the factory team but it is not sure whether he will be partnered at Pramac by Johann Zarco or Pecco Bagnaia.
