Petronas SRT’s Jake Dixon is hoping for a strong return to Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Moto2 this weekend.
Dixon has been making good progress with his Moto2 bike in the closing stages of the season, since his brief excursion into the premier class at Silverstone and Aragon. Having ended the AmericasGP inside the top 10, he returns to a circuit where he has more, and recent, experience and one that he enjoyed a top six finish at last year. The Brit is hoping to keep his momentum going for another strong points-scoring finish for the Emilia-Romagna GP this time out.
“We’ve got something to build on for the final three races of the season and I’m really looking forward to it,” Dixon said ahead of his Italian return.
"I feel like we’re starting to come back to where I was form-wise at the end of last year. It’s taken a bit of time but the team and my mechanics have done an amazing job.
“It was my first time back on a Moto2 bike at Misano last month, so we knew it would be difficult, but my pace was good and would have been good enough for a top 10. I’d like to think that if we could start the weekend inside that top 10 and try to qualify on the front three rows then we can be with the leading group in the race.”
