Reigning MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez has tried and rejected a new swingarm for his RC213V at Misano, saying there were more negatives to it than positives but that the information gained could be good for the future.
Marquez tried the new unit yesterday in free practice one and again in the second session to give HRC some data and points of reference but didn’t continue with it into today.
“Yeah, I try yesterday a new swing arm but it was just a prototype for Honda to try to understand. I try in FP1. It was not working. I did not like the feeling but it was some positive things. And then Honda asked me if it was possible to try again in FP2 because they need another information. I say okay, maybe we’ll lose one exit,” said Marquez, speaking at Misano.
“But it was a good time to try for them. We try but then we forget because it was too many negative points, but it was some positive points that were real interesting. It was just for take information for the future.”
