MotoGP Misano: Moto2 pitlane start for Lowes

Britain's Sam Lowes will start Sunday's Moto2 race from pitlane after being punished for irresponsible riding at the second Red Bull Ring MotoGP.

Lowes wiped out Somkiat Chantra and Jorge Navarro in one go on the brakes into turn three at Spielberg and race direction penalised him with the pitlane start.

However, Lowes remains upbeat and can work on his pace over race distance in all three free practices instead of worrying about a qualifying time.

"I really like the Misano circuit. It's like my second home Grand Prix, so I'm really looking forward to getting back on track and having two good races in a row," said Lowes.

"I feel very good with the team and with the bike as we have been competitive in all the races. I can't wait to start working on Friday to be as prepared as possible for Sunday's race.

"The goal is to be among the fastest riders again to try make up for the disappointment of the last race. We'll start the race from the pitlane and it won't be easy, but I'll give it my all from the first corner.”
