Scott Redding’s move to MotoGP with MarcVDS and HRC backing in 2015 has been officially, properly, officially confirmed today as the team announced a deal to lease a factory RC213V.
The news slipped out via Twitter following the Misano race but nothing official has been forthcoming since. However, a statement from the squad confirmed both the bike and the rider today at Motegi. Redding will race for the team to the end of 2016.
“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has helped us to achieve our aim of racing in the premier MotoGP class, with what is clearly the most competitive bike available,” said team boss Michael Bartholemy.
“Without their help, and the continued support of Marc van der Straten, this move would have remained a dream for us, but now it is a reality. Obviously we are looking forward to welcoming Scott Redding back to the fold next year, but our focus for now must be on the Moto2 World Championship, which we are currently leading with both of our riders.”
