Pramac Ducati's Nico Canepa is having to learn the Motegi MotoGP track the old-fashioned way after dicovering his European-spec PlayStation isn't compatible with Japanese televisions.

The former Ducati test rider is going to the Japanese circuit for the first time this weekend and was hoping to prepare for his debut by learning the place on his PlayStation3 but it won't work with the country's telly formats.

"The Japanese weekend didn't start too good, I brought my Playstation to learn the Motegi circuit on the MotoGP game, but unluckily my system is different compare to here and I am not able to play," he said.

"Therefore I will have to learn all the secret of the track on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning free sessions. A pity. Anyway for what I have seen on television it doesn't seem like a technical circuit and this can help a new rider like me. To start from zero is never easy but I will try do much better compare to my debut in Qatar where I didn't perform too well."
