Jake Dixon finished the Moto2 Italian Grand Prix in sixth position after a challenging weekend on his Inde GasGas Aspar.
Despite leading the times in Friday practice, Dixon admitted to being nervous as he lined up ninth on the Mugello grid having suffered three DNF’s in recent races. A hesitant start saw the Brit running just adrift of the top ten for the first half before his confidence improved, and with a little help from some falling front runners, he met the flag for ten championship points.
“Difficult weekend but overall, the race was not so bad,” Dixon confirmed.
“I hadn’t finished the last three races so I was a bit nervous at the beginning here and I had to come back from a long way. Not bad, and something to build on for Barcelona.”
