MotoGP Mugello: Spies' shoulder 'night and day better'

Ignite Ducati's Ben Spies says his shoulder injury is night and day better than it was before the Austin MotoGP round but he won't know how well it will perform until first free practice at Mugello tomorrow.

The Texan has spent the last weeks in intensive rehabilitation, working with doctors, physios and chiropractors in an effort to get him back to full fitness but is well aware he won't be at full pace this weekend.

"It's been four or five days a week, working two hours a day in different ways, chiropractor, massage, physio, everything so they have been long days but hopefully it has paid off and I can say we were a lot further ahead than we were before Austin," said Spies, speaking at Mugello.

"Is it good enough yet? I don't know. I need to ride and get into the rhythm of things but defintely the break was needed to get my shoulder back to where it needs to be. The is no question of that and I am 100 per cent it has come a long way but it is night and day better than it was a few weeks ago."
