MotoGP Portimao: Podium consistency the goal for Dixon

A confident Jake Dixon arrives in Portimao fresh from the Texas podium and eager for more with his Autosolar GASGAS Aspar team.

The Moto2 Championship returns to Europe and the Algarve International Circuit this weekend for the first of another set of back-to-back races. Portugal brings positive vibes for Dixon after showing impressive pace during the preseason test and with the Brit still buzzing from claiming his maiden Grand Prix podium, thanks to a third place finish at COTA two weeks ago. Having already topped his 2021 points tally by just the fourth round this season, the 26-year-old is hoping to ride the momentum at the rollercoaster venue.

“I feel good after the first podium,” Dixon confirmed. “Now we return to Europe, we start in Portugal, where we did a preseason test that went very well for us.

“My goal will always be to fight for the podium, being consistent and thinking week by week. We are going to follow the work plan that we had until now.”

Another change to the standard MotoGP race day schedule sees Moto2 complete Sunday’s action this weekend, with lights out at 14:30 BST.
