Britain’s Sam Lowes crashed out of the Sepang MotoGP Moto2 race after a frustrating weekend of trying to deal with massive chatter from his Speed Up bike.
The former World Supersport Champion managed to get up to tenth from his 15th place on the grid but a suspension change to try and get rid of the vibration caught him out and he lost the front while chasing the leading group.
“We couldn’t get rid of the chatter but we controlled it a little bit. We went much harder on the front but when I let off the brake, it popped up and I lost the front. I’d made a good step from qualifying, got into tenth and the group was right in front of me,” said Lowes, speaking at Sepang.
“I was just getting on the back of them and obviously I’m frustrated. It’s been a really tough weekend with the bike and a few problems. We’re disappointed but there are a lot of positives. Hopefully we can go to Valencia and finish on a high.”
