Reigning MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo has resigned himself to the fact he will lose his crown to Marc Marquez this year and says he will now turn his attentions to securing second in the 2013 title fight.
Points leader Marc Marquez needs only to leave next weekend's Phillip Island round with a 50-point advantage to take the title and he already has 43 of those in the bag after today's runner-up spot at Sepang.
"After Aragon race it was very difficult, now it is close to impossible. There is some hopes but I think the more clever thing is to try to finish second this year and try to win as much as possible races," said Lorenzo, speaking after today's race.
The Spaniard did hold out some hope of a win in Australia though, as he said the temperature would be lower and the more flowing nature of Phillip Island could both work in favour of the YZR-M1.
