MotoGP Sepang: Lorenzo ruled out of Malaysian MotoGP

Factory Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo has been forced to withdraw from this weekend's Malaysian MotoGP race weekend due to the wrist injury sustained in Buriram last month.

The three-time MotoGP World Champion has sat out the previous three race weekends due to the free practice crash from Thailand. After undergoing surgery on his left wrist to repair a damaged ligament in his left wrist, Lorenzo wanted to try and ride in Malaysia in what would be his penultimate race with Ducati.

After attempting and struggling to ride in free practice on Friday, Lorenzo decided to give himself the evening to see how he recovered, before coming back to the track Saturday morning with a decision.

Unfortunately for the Spaniard he has been forced to rule himself out of the race for the fourth weekend in a row.

With Lorenzo out for the weekend, Ducati test rider Michelle Pirro will replace him this weekend.

The Spaniard saw Alvaro Bautista replace him last weekend in Australia, however, Ducati brought Pirro along in case of this situation and the Italian will get the ride in Malaysia.
