MotoGP Sepang: Rossi 'not strong enough' to fight for podium

Nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi still says he is not strong enough to fight for the podium but aims to rectify that in the final four MotoGP races of the season, starting tomorrow at Sepang.

The Doctor, who has won one race this year, says his target is to improve enough to fight with team-mate Jorge Lorenzo and the Hondas of Dani Pedrosa and championship leader Marc Marquez.

"From the first test, the feeling was very positive. During the season I am happy about my result but I need more and I want to try and improve my level and my speed because I did some good races, one victory, some podiums, but I want to stay closer to the top three guys, this is the target," said Rossi, speaking at Sepang.

"I think in the last two races I improve a lot, I raise my level, but I am not strong enough to fight with the top guys which is the target for the end of the season."
