Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi found himself slowed by chatter on day two of MotoGP testing at Sepang after changing some settings on the YZR-M1 which halted his march to the top of the sheets.
The Doctor is a little mystified by the problem and his team are investigating all the variables including the clutch and he says they had to change the balance of the bike to get rid of some of the vibration, which slowed him down.
“We struggling a little bit more, especially with the chattering this morning, it was big problem. Already from the beginning I was not able to ride at 100 per cent. In fact, on the lap with the new tyre, I was slower than yesterday and we expect to go a little bit faster like Jorge did,” said Rossi, speaking at Sepang.
“We modify something in the bike to try something else but at the end we come back like yesterday. Why, I don’t know, sincerely. We go with new tyre which was a little better but it was three-tenth slower than yesterday.
“In the afternoon, we fixed the vibration but we have to put the bike in a difference balance but at the end I don’t like very much, I was not satisfied. My pace was not so bad as I able to go faster than yesterday. For tomorrow we will try in the morning to make a good lap with the new tyre, then maybe a simulation.”
