Marlboro Ducati's Casey Stoner has set the fastest time so far in the second day of the MotoGP tests at Malaysia's Sepang circuit, keeping yesterday's quickest man Loris Capirossi in second and Valentino Rossi in third.
For most of the day it was again a Rossi and Stoner show but, like yesterday, Capirossi put in some fast laps towards the end and managed to steal a march on The Doctor.
Stoner is half a second quicker than the Italian's time from yesterday and the threat of bad weather never materialised, so conditions today have been very similar.
Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa has hauled himself up the timesheets into fourth position, only half a second slower than the Australian, while Chris Vermuelen rounds out the top five.
It's been another trying day for Britain's James Toseland, who could only manage 17th. He had a massive crash yesterday, writing off one of his 2009 Tech3 Yamaha YZR-M1s, and that won't have done his confidence any favours.
