MOTOGP SEPANG TEST: STONER TAKES THE LEAD

Former MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner took advantage of a break by Valentino Rossi and went to the top of the timesheets during the first day of testing at Malaysia's Sepang circuit.

Rossi had set the fastest time during the first session of the official tests even with his cut foot and hand, and a fall in the early part of the day.

He was unharmed in the crash but Yamaha test rider Yoshikawa also fell at the same place, giving speculation to the level of grip at turn two. Tech3 Yamaha's James Toseland also had an off.
