Tech3 Yamaha's James Toseland has been left with bruising and a a dead arm after a massive crash during the first day's MotoGP testing at Malaysia's Sepang circuit.

The former World Superbike Champion highsided his 2009 YZR-M1 at around lunchtime while using the new Bridgestone tyres for the first time. The bike, apparently, was wrecked in the accident.

He returned to the track, however, after some treatment at the track medical centre. Toseland finished the day 14th fastest while team-mate Colin Edwards was seventh.
