Spanish star Alvaro Bautista has confirmed he will switch to the Aruba Ducati squad in WorldSBK next season and partner Chaz Davies.
The Aspar rider has done a year deal with the Bologna factory and replaces the departing Marco Melandri, who is off to parts unknown but has been linked with a seat in the Yoshimura Suzuki MotoAmerica team.
“In the last races, many people were asking for my future. This season in MotoGP has been very close and special but I have had a lot of problem with the bike. So when I start to show my potiential, there were no places left,” said Bautista, speaking at Silverstone.
“I had many offers in Moto2 but I will do WorldSBK with the Aruba Ducati team. I am so motivated and it will be a challenge for me. Together we will be strong and we can get good results there. I am loooking forward to it.”
