MotoGP Termas: Pedrosa 'unlucky on wet patches' - Zarco

Monster Yamaha’s Johann Zarco believes he wasn’t at fault for Dani Pedrosa’s first-lap highside in the Argentine MotoGP round, saying the Spaniard was unlucky to hit a wet patch.

Zarco put a move on the Repsol Honda man into turn 13 which pushed Pedrosa wide and then as soon as Pedrosa tried to open the throttle on the still-damp track, he got pinged over the highside and will get a wrist injury checked out in hospital this week.

“It was dry on the race line plus the inside line. I used this dry line to overtake but then when you are going into the corner with this different line you have to go wide and the problem is Dani was on the wet,” said Zarco.

“I also had to pick up the bike not to crash because if I crashed I would have pushed him off when I crashed. I did not crash on the wet patches but I didn’t know he crashed. I was looking at Alex overtaking and for me Dani was still behind. He has been unlucky on the wet patches.”
