Austin MotoGP hero and record breaker Marc Marquez has again played down his chances of taking the 2013 title, saying it is 'practically impossible' against the strength of team-mate Dani Pedrosa and reigning champion Jorge Lorenzo.
The Repsol Honda rider set a new benchmark at the Texas track when he became the youngest polesitter and race winner in the premier class' history - knocking Freddie Spencer of his 31-year perch.
“I don’t want to think about that right at the moment. To be honest, I think winning the title this year is practically impossible. We’ve started off in a good way, but those these two circuits treated me well. Now we’re going to smaller tracks, which won’t be so easy for me on a MotoGP bike – so I’ve got to get used to that quickly," said Marquez.
“I assure you that we’ll be giving it 100 per cent in every single race, but I do think the title is between Jorge and Dani this year – they’re the strongest ones.”
