Britain's James Toseland crashed out of this morning's first free practice with just three laps gone of an hour session, but managed to pick hmself back up to complete a further 25 laps and get within two seconds of Casey Stoner on a track he doesn't know.
Toseland braked too hard on a white line and lost the front end at turn eight. He has a second session this afternoon to get his set-up on the way to something he can ride on and will be striving to sort out the front end. It is thought he started the session on very soft settings but hardened them up and will be looking to get the rear under control this afternoon.
