Sam Lowes took a big hit this morning in a big crash in Moto2’s thrd practice but initial reports of a broken wrist proved to be incorrect.
The British rider went down on his 16th lap of the session at turn nine and was run over by his Marc VDS machine, resulting in a trip to the medical centre.
An EG00 MarcVDS spokesman said: “Sam has gone through medical check and the x-ray is not showing any broken bone. Pain and ice and we’ll see how it all follows.”
Lowes has been declared fit at the circuit medical centre and will ride in Moto2 Q2 later today.
