Augusto Fernandez has his own title fight awaiting at Valencia as the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider prepares to challenge for the Moto2 Championship trophy.
Less than ten points covers the battling duo of Fernandez and Ai Ogura for the final race of the intermediate season with the Spaniard in charge and hoping to leave with the crown ahead of his promotion to the premier class for 2023.
"I am really looking forward to starting the weekend,” Fernandez said ahead of his finale in Moto2. “Valencia is a circuit that I like and where I got on the podium in 2021.
“I want to forget about everything else and start well on Friday. The goal is still, like every weekend, to get a good grid position in qualifying and fight to win the race on Sunday.
“I think we can do it, as we come into this one from races in which we have been strong, but for one reason or another they did not turn out the way we wanted. I want to fight for the win.”
