Yamaha WorldSBK star Garrett Gerloff has made his MotoGP debut in place of Valentino Rossi, splashing around a wet Valencia in free practice one.

The Texan is out on full wets on his first ever laps on the near 300bhp YZR-M1 and is acquitting himself well, finishing 16th and only 1.6s off the pace.
