Reigning MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez will not take part in this weekend's Valencia MotoGP round, giving Stefan Bradl another race in the hot seat.
Marquez is still recovering from shoulder surgery after a crash at Jerez and would appear to be in no hurry to get back on board the Repsol Honda RC213V.
Bradl will be partnered by Marquez' young brother and regular teamster Alex Marquez, who goes into this weekend with two podium finishes in the last two races.
“It has been good to have one final week to train and prepare for what will be an intense and demanding end to the season," said Marquez jr.
"We approach it in the same way as all the previous races; looking to improve and show our potential. I rode there already in the test but since then I have changed a lot so I am looking forward to seeing my growth as a MotoGP rider. Let's finish the season well and keep improving.“
