MotoGP Valencia: Marquez continues to lead

Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez continues to top the Valencia MotoGP free practice timesheets, setting the quickest time in this afternoon's session with a 1'31.220 but he was pushed all the way by team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who was just 0.066s slower than his younger compatriot.

Both the works Honda men spent a great deal of the session evaluating Bridgestone's new hard option rear tyre and set their fastest laps on it, as did Jorge Lorenzo who finished third on 1'31.378, so expect the front-runners to race on the tyre if conditions are similar on Sunday.

Britain's Cal Crutchlow hauled himself up the sheets to fourth place after a steady start this morning, putting in a 1'31.502 before crashing unhurt on his last lap of the session. He is less than three-tenths off Marquez' pace and a tenth ahead of Valentino Rossi.
