Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez continues to top the Valencia MotoGP free practice timesheets, setting the quickest time in this afternoon's session with a 1'31.220 but he was pushed all the way by team-mate Dani Pedrosa, who was just 0.066s slower than his younger compatriot.
Both the works Honda men spent a great deal of the session evaluating Bridgestone's new hard option rear tyre and set their fastest laps on it, as did Jorge Lorenzo who finished third on 1'31.378, so expect the front-runners to race on the tyre if conditions are similar on Sunday.
Britain's Cal Crutchlow hauled himself up the sheets to fourth place after a steady start this morning, putting in a 1'31.502 before crashing unhurt on his last lap of the session. He is less than three-tenths off Marquez' pace and a tenth ahead of Valentino Rossi.
Stefan Bradl improved his pace from this morning to take sixth ahead of Alvaro Bautista with Bradley Smith eighth. Andrea Dovizioso bagged ninth place with Nicky Hayden tenth and Andrea Iannone 11th.
Aleix Espargaro was the fastest Open class rider on his 2014-spec Aprilia but crashed out mid-way through the session. Claudio Corti was second with Forward NGM team-mate Colin Edwards third. Michael Laverty finished in 22nd.
