Nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi has heaped praise on 2013 MotoGP victor Marc Marquez, saying the youngster's performance this year was deserving of the world title.
Rossi was also full of compliments for his team-mate Jorge Lorenzo, saying that he did the maximum and to only lose by four points on a bike that had a 'technical disadvantage, was as much as the Spaniard could do.
"Marquez this year make a great job, something very impressive because to win the championship for a rookie in MotoGP is very difficult. He was always very fast, very constant in all the track from the beginning to the end, in all the condition so I think he deserve the championship.
"Jorge, this year, did a fantastic job. Sometime he did the perfect, perfect race. His pace from the beginning was unbelieveable, his skills to ride the bike was great and I think in battle with Marquez he has a technical disadvantage as the Honda is a bit better.
"The only mistake of Jorge was crash in Sachsenring where he was pushing very strong with the injury, this was the only mistake that he did. Lorenzo must have no regrets, he give the maximum and only lose by four points."
