Rain continued to fall at Valencia this afternoon, slowing the MotoGP pace in the second free practice session which saw Johann Zarco crash early doors and Xavier Simeon go down for a second time shortly after he came back from hospital following a spill this morning.
Only Malaysian Hafizh Syahrin managed to improve his time from the first session but was still second to last and the business end of four seconds off the pace set by reigning champion Marc Marquez this morning.
Danilo Petrucci led the second session but was some two seconds off the pace. He was followed by Marquez, who experimented with the medium front Michelin, with Valentino Rossi in third place.
Probably for the first time ever, both KTMs and both Aprilias were in the top ten.
