Taka Nakagami will remain with the LCR Idemitsu Honda squad for an assault on the 2023 MotoGP title.
It was thought the Japanese star’s seat could be under threat from Noto2 rider Ai Ogura but Lucio Checinello has played it safe with the HRC-contracted rider.
“I am very happy to be able to continue racing in MotoGP in 2023 with LCR Honda Idemitsu. I would like to thank IDEMITSU and Honda HRC for their continuous support,” said Nakagami.
“I am looking forward to the next season, and I will give it everything to achieve the best results with the team. Meanwhile, for the rest of this season, I will continue to work hard to improve my performance.”
Nakagami will partner Alex Rins, who has joined the team after Suzuki took its ball home.
