New frame not enough for Hayden after Mugello test

Factory Ducati's Nicky Hayden thinks the new frame he evaluated at during a two Mugello is not enough to make a significant difference to his MotoGP performances.

The 2006 world champion says not enough has been achieved with the laboratory bike which Michele Pirro has developed and raced to seventh place at Le Mans and the new frame only saw him achieve the same laptime as the current one.

“If we’re completely honest, we didn’t achieve the progress that we’d hoped for, which is unfortunate. This laboratory bike has some positives, but at the moment, the lap time is very similar to our current bike," said Hayden.

"Hopefully these days will help the engineers to learn something. Thanks to my guys for coming here and working hard, because it’s not easy to go back to the track and test after a long GP weekend.”
