Factory KTM MotoGP test rider Dani Pedrosa is open to talking about a return to competition if his Austrian paymasters so wish.

It was thought that the tiny Spaniard was all done with racing and wanted to focus on his development role.

"I don't know at the moment. In principle I say no but if KTM thinks running is an advantage for our project, then we will talk about it," said Pedrosa.

Jorge Lorenzo's Yamaha wildcard announcements may have also poked the former HRC employee in a different direction.

"The situation is very different. I don't know their motivations, if they do it for personal reasons, to try new parts or both. It's nice for the fans to see him race.

"We are trying some parts on the bike but it is not the time to do it in a race."
