Former MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez has only one spec of engine to test at Phillip Island and just one chassis in which to put it.
The Spaniard is concentrating on the newer spec motor which HRC took to the Sepang test and last year’s frame, and will work on improving the electronics in Australia.
“The programme for this test, we have many things to try. Today we don’t try. We must concentrate tomorrow because on Friday also the forecast doesn’t look so good. We must concentrate on the important things, like the electronics and the geometry, which at this circuit is important,” said Marquez, speaking at the track.
“Feeling with electronics was good. The thing is that I only did five laps and then five laps. It’s difficult to understand but the feeling was good. No strange cuts. Also, I didn’t push to feel the cuts. I didn’t push a lot but it looks better than what I expect.”
