Britain’s Scott Redding has turned his first laps on the MarcVDS RC213V he will race in next year’s MotoGP world championship, rolling down pitlane at Valencia on a bike that has been equipped with Ohlins and Brembo cycle parts.
The Gloucestershire rider ended 2014 as top Production Honda and has returned to the team where he finished Moto2 runner up in 2012. He has also been surrounded by British technicians for this year, led by ex-Jonathan Rea crew chief Chris Pike.
By the end of day one, Redding had set a fastest lap of 1’32.998 on his 28th lap of 36.
