VisionTrack’s Scott Ogden concluded Moto3 preseason testing confident of a strong showing as 2023 prepares.
Having left Jerez as the man to beat, Ogden backed his front running performance up with three top eight finishes at the Algarve International Circuit. His Sunday best, a 1’47.567 midday effort, placing him just three tenths of a second from outright pacesetter Riccardo Rossi.
“Overall it was quite a good day and I feel really strong,” Ogden told bikesportnews.com from Portugal. “We’ve just been working really on race pace and then when the time comes, we put the new tyre in and it’s quite easy to do the lap time when we work hard in other areas.
“It’s a new crew chief this year,” he continued. “But we’ve worked hard over the winter to build a good relationship and it’s carried on through the test.
“I was a bit worried Jerez would just be like a fluke result but it’s nice to be in the top eight or nine every session so I feel good.
“I feel like at the moment we’ve got the pace to fight at the front of the races. I don’t know if anyone else will improve over the next couple of days, but I think we can improve. Just keep working and hopefully get in a good position to, maybe not set the fastest lap time but be able to fight at the front on the Sunday, next week.”
