For the second year in a row, the Trackhouse Racing rider will miss the Sepang Test due to injuries.
Raul Fernandez will not complete all three days of the Sepang Test due to injuries he sustained after completing 24 laps on the opening day.
The Spaniard will not be out on day two or three of the test and has put himself on the backfoot going into the season for the second year in a row.
Trackhouse Racing said this about his condition: "Raul [Fernandez] has suffered a fractured metacarpal bone in his left hand. We are currently evaluating further treatment."
It is unclear if Fernandez will have to undergo surgery to fix his hand. It is unconfirmed but it is expected that he will miss next week's Thailand MotoGP Test on the 12th and 13th of February.
It will now be a race against time for the Aprilia rider as he aims to recover to attempt to ride at Round One in Thailand at the end of the month.
