Britain’s Scott Redding is determined to build on the pace he showed at the Catalunya MotoGP round as he rolls into this weekend’s Assen race on the back of a second seventh place in 2015.
Redding has slowly built on his speed over the season but has struggled, like the factory Honda riders, to get the bike out of slow turns - something that isn’t too much of a problem at the fast and flowing Circuit Van Drenthe.
“Barcelona was one of my best races of the season so far and we need to build on that this weekend. Assen is one of my favourite circuits; it’s quite fast and flowing with only a couple of tight corners, which should suit our bike better,” said the Estrella Galicia Marc VDS man.
“The aim is to start the weekend strong and then, in the race, try to hold onto the second group for a bit longer. Last week we were complaining about limited track time after a thunderstorm disrupted the Barcelona test, but my feeling with the bike was good in the wet and that could be important this weekend at Assen, where the possibility of rain is always high.”
