Britain’s Scott Redding ended the Jerez MotoGP test today only two-tenths slower than world champion Jorge Lorenzo’s fastest race lap time at the Spanish track as he continues to find confidence with the Pramac Ducati GP15.
Redding did 54 laps today while getting to grips not only with the new bike but with the Michelin tires and the new electronics package. The Gloucestershire rider set his best time of 1’38.9s this morning and then worked on setup. By comparison, Lorenzo’s pole from the race this year was a 1’37.910.
We did very well in these two days as we were able to lower the laptime by more than a second. The feeling grows run after run and also with the tires things are going well,”said Redding.
“ I feel I have a lot of confidence with the bike. We worked on the weight distribution finding a good pace. I am very satisfied with these tests and I look forward to going to Malaysia.”
