Grand Prix rookie Scott Redding has stunned the MotoGP paddock by finishing fifth his first ever GP race. The 15-year-old had already re-written the record books by becoming the youngest ever rider to sit on the front row of a GP race and topped his quaifying with a simply stunning race performance.
Redding, who showed some incredible corner speed, stalked Mike DiMeglio in the last few laps for third, but was beaten on power over the line by the Frenchman and Stefan Bradl.
Fellow Brit Danny Webb had a lonely time toward the end of the race, finishing in sixth after challenging for podium positions for the first half.
Poleman Bradley Smith ended the race in 16th after leading for the first two laps. His bike seemed to nip up as he was starting to pull a small gap and he sank down the order but managed to nurse his Polaris World Aprilia over the line. His bike broke down in morning warm-up, causing his team to send him out on his spare and attempt to sort out the problem for the race.
The problem was actually a broken steering damper which meant Smith lost most of his feel through the front end of his bike and the wheel was doing pretty much as it saw fit - a dangerous situation even on a 125. 
Sergio Gadea took the win, with Joan Olive second and Bradl third.
