Valentino Rossi has expressed regret for the enduro crash yesterday that has effectively ended his MotoGP title hunt following surgery last night.
The Movistar Yamaha rider has his broken right tibia and fibula pinned at the Ospedaliero-Universitaria Ospedali Riuniti in Ancona. A recovery period of 12 weeks is usual for this type of break so expect Rossi to be back in competition in a month to six weeks.
“The surgery went well. This morning, when I woke up, I felt already good. I would like to thank the staff of the Ospedali Riuniti in Ancona, and in particular Doctor Pascarella who operated on me. I’m very sorry for the incident. Now I want to be back on my bike as soon as possible. I will do my best to make it happen,” said Rossi.
