Sam Lowes is looking to bounce back at Mugello after a poor race in Le Mans last time out in the Moto2 class.

British rider, Sam Lowes, crashed in the early stages of the French Grand Prix last time out. After rejoining the race after a red flag Lowes was able to claim a point after crossing the line in 15th place.

Ahead of this weekends return to action at Mugello Lowes had this to say:

“Mugello is always a track that I really enjoy racing at. It’s a track that suits my style and I’ve had some great races there in the past and I can’t get wait to get going this weekend.

"Le Mans wasn’t the result we wanted having shown our speed throughout the weekend, but we had great pace in France, and I see no reason why we can’t be strong again in Mugello.

"I’m confident we’ll be in the fight at the front and my clear target is to be back on the podium.”

The 32-year-old has not had a great time in Mugello in recent years, his last two visits to the Italian track have ended in DNF's. Lowes has had success at Mugello in the past however as he claimed a third place in 2016.

Lowes is currently 7th in the Moto2 Championship with one podium to his name, which is also a race win. The next three races will be a crucial run for Lowes to try and secure his future in the Moto2 class as his name has been rumoured around the WorldSBK paddock.
