Moto2 rookie Sam Lowes has broken his collarbone in a testing crash at Jerez but will go under the knife this evening in Spain to get it fixed.
The reigning World Supersport Champion had been enjoying his final outing of the year before the winter test ban comes into force on December 1. Details of the incident are sketchy but it is thought Lowes has also dislocated his shoulder in the incident.
"Had fantastic test worked through lots of things loving bike and team and surprised by our pace and consistency! Can not wait for Feb," he Tweeted this evening.
