After a solid performance last time out at Silverstone Sam Lowes is ready to carry over the momentum from his home round to the Red Bull Ring this weekend.
Sam Lowes has only 11 race weekends left as a Grand Prix rider before he moves over to the World Superbike championship. These last 11 races feature tracks where Lowes has put together good results in the past, which could set the British rider up for a good end to his time in Moto2.
This weekends Austrian Grand Prix will be Lowes' first time riding the new layout at the Red Bull Ring after thwe 32-year-old missed last years Austrian Grand Prix through injury. However, in 2021 Lowes finished fourth in Austria after a difficult Styrian Grand Prix.

“I feel we gained some decent momentum last time out at Silverstone," said Sam Lowes ahead of this weekends Austrian Grand Prix. "So it is a nice feeling to go back to Austria and try and build on that.
"It is going to be an interesting weekend for me because unfortunately last year I couldn’t ride, and the track changed quite a bit in the first sector.
"I’m curious to try out the layout and get to grips with it but I’ve had some good results in Austria in the past and hopefully we can be in the mix for the podium once again.”
