Five-time Suzuka 8 Hours winner Takumi Takahashi will be the latest rider to deputise for the injured Alex Rins at the upcoming San Marino MotoGP in Misano.
The Japanese rider will make his second career MotoGP appearance some eight years after he made an appearance for Honda during his home Japanese MotoGP at Motegi.

Having previously competed with Honda in both WorldSBK with MIE Racing and also the works supported Honda Racing team in BSB, Takahashi gets his MotoGP shot just a month after becoming only the second rider to win the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race on five occasions.
He takes over from Iker Lecuona, who has deputised for the injured Rins in the last two events at LCR but will assume his regular ride in the latest round of WorldSBK at Magny-Cours.
Rins, meanwhile, is set to miss his fifth event in succession following injuries sustained in the Italian MotoGP at Mugello.
