Suzuki have delayed their return to MotoGP by a year and will now enter with a GSV-R1000 in 2015. Although no official reasons have been given, it is believed the factory deems the bike is currently not as competitive as they want it to be in its current guise and was two seconds off the pace at a recent Motegi test.
Former Yamaha top man Davide Brivio has been confirmed as the project chief, and Randy De Puniet will continue in his testing role. The bike is currently being tested at Barcelona, alongside the rest of the MotoGP field.
