Britain’s Sam Lowes believes that this weekend’s Moto2 race at the Calatalan MotoGP round is the place to fight for his first win of the season.
The EG0,0 Marc VDS rider is full of confidence after taking third at Misano on Sunday and thinks the high speed and flowing nature of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is well suited to his aggressive riding style.
“This is a track that I like and where I did very well last year. I finished ninth but only because I made some mistakes in the middle of the race,” said Lowes.
“However, I was on the front row with Augusto, so it would be great to repeat it now that we share a team. I have never been on the podium at this track, but I think that our performance, adaptation to the bike and the way we work with the team are well suited to this circuit.
“I feel better and better on the bike, so I think it’s time to fight for the first win of the year. The goal is to be fast and go for the win.”
